A major healthcare event is taking place in Samarkand—the 2nd International Congress on Pediatric Oncology has launched as part of the World Summit "Investing in Children's Well-being: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations." The main theme of this year's meeting is "From Recovery to Well-being."
The team of the EZGU AMAL Charitable Foundation is actively participating in the congress, representing the interests of civil society and the NGO sector working with critically ill children in Uzbekistan.
This large-scale international platform has brought together healthcare leaders from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Russia. Discussions are being attended by representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), the European School of Oncology, as well as specialists from university clinics, leading foreign medical centers, and the national scientific community.
The congress theme, "From Recovery to Well-being," perfectly resonates with the mission of the EZGU AMAL Foundation. Today, global oncology focuses not only on saving a child's life but also on their future quality of life. For the foundation, this means continuing its systematic work: from purchasing vital medicines and supporting the public sector in pediatric oncology care, to implementing programs that help children comfortably reintegrate into society after undergoing severe treatment.
On the sidelines of the congress, representatives of EZGU AMAL are actively exchanging knowledge with specialized international experts and discussing advanced approaches to treatment and rehabilitation. Participating in such high-level events allows the foundation to adopt the best global practices and implement them to help young patients in our country.
